We got one for our baby and the only thing we didn't really like were the toys on the top. Well, they've replaced them with new and improved toys! This is great because:1. Baby doesn't fall out the sides. Eventually, they can crawl out - unless you zip it closed, but that's a whole different matter.
2. Baby and small pets (like cats and small dogs) can examine each other through the mesh without batting at each other.
3. It's larger size means baby can stay in it for a lot more months while parents tend to other things.
4. It folds up easily, so it doesn't require a lot of room in the house. (Less than most bouncy seats, actually.)
5. It's very portable, so you can not only take it to the park, you can take it to friends' homes and let baby rest / play in a familiar environment. You don't have to worry about baby messes getting on someone else's stuff.
6. You can zipper up the top, so small pets can't get in to cuddle with baby, or just claim the spot as theirs. Baby can still see out through the mesh sides and top half. Can you tell we just LOVE it?

My husband and I enjoy being outside with family or friends. The Play Dome is wonderful because our 13 day old son can sit outside with us at picnics or on the back porch without the fear of pets or unwelcome bugs bothering him. We use it indoors, also, and is nice to take while visiting others. Beats sitting in his carseat the whole time. It is usually set up in the living room so he can be close to us while resting. The size of the sitting area is very large so it will be something he can grow into. It is light enough to fold up and tote along with carrying the baby, diaper bag and everything else. The reason I did not award 5 stars to this product is because it is difficult to fold and unfold. I'm not sure if it's because it is new and not broken in or if it's just that darn hard! I find it difficult and awkward to pull both legs at once to unlock. Also, it would be nice if it did have different positions so when he does get older he can play or reach the toys. Other than that, this is definately a need to have item if you are planning to be on the go or just relaxing at home. Good Luck!!!
Rating: - Something indispensible I never thought I needed....
This is the best! It's small enough to keep in your trunk for trips to friends' and relatives' houses and can serve as an impromptu crib! It is the best for going to the pool or sitting outside with your baby - they get shade, bug protection and the mesh sides and top allow your baby to enjoy the breeze. My baby loves the dangling toys, too.
I recently went to the house of a friend who had a rambunctious new puppy. I was able to go out to my trunk, get the 'Thunderdome', pop baby inside and zip it up. Voila! She was protected from puppy and had cool toys to play with.
Buy this for all new Mommies! They won't even think to register for it (I didn't!) but they'll love it!!!!!
Extremely easy to set up and put away.
