Rating: - Great for Hearing Impaired Folks
I received this monitor as a baby shower gift. I had requested it on my registry and was very anxious to have it. My husband is hard of hearing and wears a hearing aid. We have found this monitor to be most useful as it has the vibration. My husband will place it in his hand or hook it on his pocket and when my son cries he can feel it. It's been great for us. As far as sound quality, it works so well I can hear my son breathing. It is very clear, just a little bit of static but nothing that would deter me from recommending it to a friend. We are very pleased with this product.
Rating: - LOVE IT
We bought this monitor after a friend suggested it to us. We had been using the FP Sound and Lights monitor, which was horrible(too much static, had to change the batteries constantly). We love this monitor-compact size, rechargeable (just plug it in every night), clear reception. We especially love the vibrating feature- you don't have to hear every breath baby makes, just clip the monitor on and it will vibrate when she/he cries.
Rating: - Good monitor with a few small issues
Before purchasing a monitor, I read reviews for what seemed like a million of them. I came to the conclusion that some monitors worked really well for some people and really poorly for others - it seemed pretty hit or miss. Anyway, I finally purchased this monitor for several reasons - it was small, the antenna was small and unbreakable, the range would allow us to use it outside, and I liked the vibration feature. We've been pretty happy with it - the reception is very clear and the vibration feature is definitely handy if I'm vacuuming or my husband is mowing. We have had two issues with it, though. The first is that the on/off/volume wheel on the parental unit keeps loosening so that when we turn it, it doesn't do anything. It's a simple matter of unscrewing the back and tightening the screw on the wheel, but it's a pain to have to do it once every week or two. The second issue is that our 2.4 GHz phone interferes with this monitor! The monitor is supposedly 900 MHz, so I figured we'd be fine with our 2.4 GHz phone but that's not the case. Oddly enough, our 900 MHz phone doesn't interfere. Unfortunately, the 2.4 GHz is the one we use primarily, which is why I bought the 900 MHz monitor to begin with - to minimize interference! Even with those two issues, I'm still pretty happy with this monitor, which is why I gave it four stars. As I mentioned before, the reception is crystal clear (when we aren't on the phone) and when we tested the range, we still had decent reception outside and about 4 houses away.
