Average Rating: Rating: - Great for swaddling These blankets are great for swaddling your newborn, however, now that my baby is two months old his feet hang out the end. Althought it is cute to see his two little feet peeking out the end, it would be nicer if the blankets were longer to cover up his entire body for a little longer than just 2 months. I still use the blankets every night as they serve their purpose. Since it is warm in the house and it is getting warmenr outside, the feet hanging out the bottom is not that big of a deal, but for those of you that need to cover up your baby during the colder months, you definately want something longer than these blankets. The worked perfectly for my baby. They are soft, durable, cute patterns and not bulky at all, so they fit in the diaper bag nicely. Rating: - okay, but not as good as other carter's products Perhaps I just had some bad luck with these blankets, but when I washed them for the first time, one of the came apart completely at one edge, and the others just didn't seem as soft as they were when they were out of the package. They're okay for laying my daughter down on top of one to play on, but they just seem kind of cheap, in a way I can't really describe. We don't really use them for covering her up when she sleeps, because she kicks everything off of her, no matter what kind of blanket. Given the chance again, I probably would not order these blankets again. I was able to visit a ... outlet store and purchase the waffle weave blankets on clearance, I think that they are far better and more comfortable against my daughter's skin. Rating: - great blankets, cutest prints I loved these blankets for my last child, and am buying another set for my next! Carter's has wonderful products, and these are very cute. They are the right weight, and cut larger than most recieving blankets. I think people misunderstand that there are two main types of blankets that you need- the over blanket type usually made of soft micro-fleece or knitted which are prettier. Then you need small light-weight recieving blankets to keep newborns swaddled in, that's why these are so thin. These are usually knit cotton jersey or light flannel, it's just a matter of your preference. I like the flannel better since Texas is always hot and they seem more light and comfortable in the heat (you want to keep the baby snug and protected from drafts, not not overheat him). They're small because their main purpose is to bundle newborns day and night like a part of their wardrobe, but after the first several months they end up being lap pads, burp cloths, getting thrown on the changing table, and doll blankets. As far as those blankets go, I've bought several types and these are the best.
